Hey y’all!
Welcome to my blog, my narrative of life and what God is doing in it, both now before the Race and then abroad in His Kingdom. Blogging is a little difficult. I’m not a writer, I’m not interesting, why would people want to read about me? Some of the lies that come up when thinking of this task. But I’m also excited for the opportunity to share, even if the only person who reads this is my mom. I’m not very used to talking about myself. My parents have been saying for years that I have a voice, a story to tell. The truth is God has given us all a voice, to share about Him and His work in our lives. My medium will be this blog, but you all have a voice as well, I encourage you to share your story, God’s story of your journey.
So a little about me?
I am 24 years old. I am a dog mom of a “Chiweenie” rescue named Bailey. I am a nurse in the Neuroscience ICU. I am currently living in the DC metro area, but Kansas is the place I call home. I am the last of 3 kiddos in my fam, with a sister and brother. I am a reader. I love nature and observing God’s creation, especially trees :). I am finding myself in a place searching for MORE, wanting to SERVE, and answer the CALL to follow in obedience.
My church growing up allowed many opportunities to serve. I’ve been on a few domestic missions trips to Kentucky and Arizona over spring break. After high school graduation, I had the opportunity to go to Ecuador for 2 weeks and have a glimpse of His Kingdom abroad. But I’ve never left home for an extended period of time like this. If you’d like to know a little bit more about the WHY behind this decision, read on to my next post about the journey that brought me to this place, about answering the call to a year away in God’s Kingdom.
Until next time,
Hailey
